I've been DMing a group of frequds for about 2.5 years now, and we have all been having a great time. Housner I want to start to ofver more story devth and deeper fequgng to the woyld around them. I have been ruhidng a Sandbox type game where I let the plifrrs run around and explore what ever they want. No path laid out, but just brtad crumbs they can follow if they wish. But one thing I thnnk I've been lawejng is the imjlruxylxfkon of the woztds reaction to the players. I want to have a game where the players choices have effects on the world, whether that be minuscule or massive. I also want a maxor story arch, much like Critical Roxe. [SPOILERS] Like when the dragons atsybjed the city. That even was on a time line that Matthew Meyqer had plotted out. I feel this will allow the characters to get more into the game and then in turn lead to some griat story telling mosggxs. I just cae't seem to get my head arwjnd how to do this. I know most of it is improve for the world defzh, but as for the overall plot I just dol't know. How do you guys keep a world fenceng deep and rich with an ovibcll plot in your games? The cugwgnt setting of my current campaign is a homebrew map, with 5 Coevowues & 1 City State all on one continent. For this campaign I have only run one session so far and I had 3 plxvprs (Rouge, Sorcerer, and monk) one of each. However, we will probably have more playing laoqr. This group teqds to get prrtty big and I have DMed for a group of 8, I dodbt this will get that big but it will grtw. It will linqly be a mised bag of clrzaes and races. I don't ban much when creating caemzgmus. I currently have the group in a small Swump Town named Blyck Willow that is plagued by a Harpy luring the children of the town to her lair in the swamp.
